---Medium and Material:
Ink, Highlights, paintbrush, ripped up map of America
I threw yellow and
blue ink onto the page for starters which mixed together creating a green
colour in the middle. After drying this, I painted a building over the abstract
with a paintbrush. I then drew another building on the right with black ink.
This was more interesting than the other experiment I did because of the
drawing style -I had only 1 minute to draw the buildings. Drawing a building at
this speed made my drawing feel and look free and expressive. The expressive
drawing style mixed with the expressive abstract made it busier. For the next
page, I went through the same stages as my previous experiment but added an
American map as a collage. I also used the same technique of drawing each building
in 1 minute. I really like the fact that there is a map; it could be the key to
remembering this image in your mind. I did not like how the skyline just had
blue ink as the background for the buildings because of how simple it looks.
Also, it looks out-of-place.

This drawing
technique with ink was not as interesting as I thought it would be. The experiment
was most successful at the start because of the structure of the buildings. I
would like to change the technique of this style and focus more on the
photographer’s style which is pictures. For my next experiment I want to combine what I have
learnt from Michael Tompsett’s , Ansel Easton Adams’s Research and experiment and find
my own technique.
