---Medium: Watercolour, Pencil, Paint Brush
This is a continuation of my last experiment; I decided to
draw the outline of an object with a pencil again but this time using
watercolours for the sky instead of charcoal. This added more life to my
experiment and helped me to use a wider range of shades more easily and
effectively. I used the water colour, blue, as background- the typical colour
of the sky. Firstly, I gradually poured
small amounts of water unto the page before dripping the blue watercolour unto
the page; I controlled my sketchbook by moving it in different angles as the
watercolour went in different directions. This helped my piece to look more
natural and less planned. Also, this technique helped to create the softness of
the sky. Furthermore, I used a thin brush to remove excess water which created
soft tiny lines connoting the clouds. Overall, in my opinion, this was
successful and better than the experiment I did before; the reason for this is
because I used a building instead of another object. This really went well as I
can see the skyline in my experiment; in addition I really like the contrast
between pencil and watercolour as they are different mediums that alongside
each other create a beautiful atmosphere and conduct various different emotions.
-This makes the object (building) to stand out and has a positive space. I
think this experiment can be improved by focusing on the negative space instead
of the positive space.
